Here's Hispania!

Well, they finally made it, albeit under a different name. Campos became Hispania, and today they finally launched their car (although this is the only photo I've found of it so far).

They couldn't have left it much later and neither of their drivers will have driven the car when they turn up for the 1st race in a week's time. Not exactly a promising start, is it? With US F1 not making it though, at least we do have 2 more teams than last season. The car has been built by Dallara, so assumingly Hispania will need to take it back to the dealership for a change of oil and a service at some point.

Drivers? Well, Bruno Senna we know about already (2nd in GP2 in 2008) but Karun Chandhok is even less spectacular, having won 3 races in GP2 in the last 2 years. To be fair though, that's not exactly rubbish, is it? Tough gig for the pair of them - let's hope they don't make fools of themselves or the press will have a field day.

Someone really should have explained to them what HRT means to most people in the UK though...

Feel that sudden chill in the air? It’s winter, heading this way. Or you’ve left the fridge door open. One of those, definitely. According to people with the word ‘meteorologist’ somewhere in their job title, it has been the driest September since records began. Hardly surprising, really – the wettest winter on record immediately beforehand almost certainly used up all the available rain in the sky early (Note to self: check the sciencey stuff, it doesn’t sound quite right). Fantasy Formula 1 - Hungary Results

Sometimes there's a wonderful "huh?" moment in F1. Today's was when the lights didn't go to red at the start, but flashed green and yellow. I'm sure all the drivers are briefed, and everyone knows the drill, but they all just sat there - no-one wanted to be the first to move. In the most high-tech sport in the world, it took Charlie Whiting waving at them to make them go. To be honest, it wasn't the most thrilling of races, but Happy Hamilton "The slow boys won't get out of my way! It's not fair! Boohoohooo - I'm telling Charlie!" winning does mean the front end of the points table still looks deliciously tight. What we really need now, as the excitement level ramps up, is.... to take 5 weeks off. Dammit. Still, to keep you occupied, I want you to memorise the points you all scored today. (National) Parklife

What’s a columnist to do when the Lake District National Park expands? Re-word a Britpop anthem, obviously.
